You Can Draw Everything Too!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Welcome to Be a Young Artist! Below are the most common questions we receive about our drawing tutorials and printable activities.

Drawing Tutorials

1) Who are the drawing tutorials for?

Our tutorials are designed for kids, tweens, teens, and adults. We explain steps in a simple way so beginners can follow along confidently.

2) Do I need to be “good at art” to start?

Not at all. Most of our lessons start with basic shapes and simple lines. If you can draw a circle and a line, you can start learning!

3) What supplies do I need for pencil drawing?

For most tutorials, you only need:

  • A pencil (HB is great for beginners)
  • An eraser
  • Paper or a sketchbook

Optional (but helpful): sharpener, blending stump/tissue, and darker pencils like 2B or 4B for shading.

4) How long does one drawing tutorial take?

It depends on the drawing. Many beginner drawings take 10–30 minutes. More detailed drawings may take longer.

5) What if my drawing doesn’t look like the example?

That’s normal—especially at the beginning. Drawing is a skill, and it improves with practice. Try again, take your time, and compare your work step-by-step (not only the final result).

6) Can adults follow the kids’ tutorials?

Yes! Many adults enjoy our easy lessons for relaxation and skill-building. You can always add extra shading or details to make the drawing more advanced.

7) Do you teach shading?

Yes. Many tutorials include basic shading steps. We also publish guides that focus on pencil shading, texture, and simple techniques to make drawings look more realistic.

Printable Coloring Pages & Activities

8) Are the printables free?

We share many free printable activities and coloring pages. Some special collections may be offered as premium downloads in the future, but we will always clearly label them.

9) How do I download and print a coloring page?

Open the printable page, click the download button/link, then print from your device. For best quality:

  • Use A4 or Letter size (depending on your country)
  • Select “Fit to page” in your printer settings
  • Use “Black & White” or “Greyscale” printing to save ink

10) Can teachers use your printables in the classroom?

Yes. Teachers and homeschoolers are welcome to use our free printables for classroom activities and learning purposes.

11) Can I upload your printables to my own website or sell them?

No. Our printables are for personal and classroom use. Please do not resell, reupload, or redistribute our files as your own. If you need special permission, contact us.

12) A printable file isn’t downloading—what should I do?

Try these quick fixes:

  • Refresh the page and try again
  • Try a different browser (Chrome/Firefox)
  • Switch from mobile data to Wi‑Fi
  • Clear your browser cache
  • If using a phone, try downloading from a computer

If it still doesn’t work, message us and include the page link.
